About the Role:

Siemens Limited is looking for an experienced System Engineer for its Smart Infrastructure division. The role involves engineering and design of Protection and Substation Automation Systems (SAS), requiring expertise in control and protection systems, system architecture, protocols, and interface design. The candidate will also interact with customers and support various teams such as sales, testing, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Protection Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), trip matrices, and interlocking logic as per client specifications.
  • Design control and protection panels across voltage levels and various bus arrangements.
  • Develop control and protection schematics for power system equipment such as Generators, Transformers, Lines, Reactors, and Busbars.
  • Prepare documentation such as FAT, SAT, GTP, TTR, FDS, and heat load analysis.
  • Develop CRP (Control & Relay Panel) interfacing drawings and system architecture.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of serial and ethernet-based protocols used in Substation Automation Systems.
  • Apply concepts of Master-Slave and Client-Server communication models, particularly with IEC 61850 protocol and computer networking.
  • Participate in customer discussions to resolve technical queries and get drawing approvals.
  • Initiate loading to factory for procurement, fabrication, and wiring of control systems.
  • Provide support to internal teams including sales, testing, and commissioning.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in protection systems and SAS engineering
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently or within a team
  • Proficient in documentation and general computing tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with E-Base software is a plus
  • Willingness to collaborate across teams and support end-to-end system implementation
